alaska mountain ultrarunning camp - day 3

geoff had decided day 3 was going to be a 'recovery' day. after breakfast - yes, we ate a lot - we drove over to the herbert glacier trail. it was basically a double-track out and back, through a gorgeous rain forest, ending up at a glacier. we were joined by locals john and merry.

this is a shot of ben just as we left the forest and crossed a sandy area towards the glacier.

the herbert glacier . . .

hanging out . . .

my beautiful chatty bunkmate steph from fairbanks . . .

running back through the forest - will and john . . .

a more tame and flat 10 miles today with 2 hours running time. i could easily get used to this place . . .
