14.1 - dubs and snatches

i was seriously on the fence for this years' crossfit games open.  i just wasn't experiencing the excitement i was last year at this time.  but once i saw the first workout and was satisfied i could do it, i threw my name in the hat.  14.1 was a 10:00 AMRAP of 30 double unders ...

and 15 power snatches with 55lbs ...

with kathy judging and counting reps, i managed to finish with 5 full rounds and 13 dubs for a total score of 238.   it was a gasser but i liked it.  and of course i had to sport an appropriate t-shirt ...

i guess i didn't work hard enough friday however, as i was able to pull off a relatively easy 2:45 in palgrave on saturday!  trails were in pretty good shape and there was minimal ankle rolling.

i came across this guy on skis!  LOVE his hat!

the sun never came out, but it was mild!  it MIGHT have almost got out of the negatives ...

goofing around ...

?????

i had been meaning to take the crossfit level one trainer course for awhile now, and finally got around to it a couple of weekends ago.  we did it in milton and the trainers there were amazing.  in order to become a trainer, one had to participate the entire weekend, and then write a multiple guess test at the end of it all.  i'm HORRIBLE at studying - bad bad attention span - squirrel - so i was a little, okay, a lot worried.  it took almost a fucking week to get results, but when i did, i was some big assed relieved!  wahoo!

nice shirt!

and, not happy with her score the first time through 14.1, my buddy kathy decided to redo it on sunday.  gee, she ONLY got 345 reps.  i know, nobody BUT those doing the open will understand, but trust me, it's amazing!  good enough for 44th in the WORLD in women's 40-44 age category after the first workout.  not bad considering the fact she had back surgery 6 months ago.  oh, and she WASN'T going to compete this year - stoopid bitch!!

i spent some quality time in the forest this week - my motto - making the best of it!  this is from thursday ...

palgrave ...

the fat bikes had been out so even the single track made for some sweet running!

again, just making the best of it!

and SERIOUSLY, i could soooooooooo get used to living in the palace...

i leave you with yet another adorable shot of the redhead ...

LOVE this kid !!!!!
