crossfit games 13.4

super kool shot of the mighty one with 'the little one'.   mrs. p was trying to train the other day but 'the little one' wasn't cooperating - and yes, i know, she only had 'the little one' 5 weeks ago - she's amazing - so daddy took over.   great job of multi-tasking - coaching and babysitting at the same time!!  she is SO cute and looks just like him!

i went into the gym on friday to watch our trainers do 13.4 - incredible!  i love seeing these guys train!  here's kathy doing clean and jerks - she made it look effortless!

saturday was my turn for 13.4 ...

Workout 13.4

7 minute AMRAP of:
3 Clean and jerk - 3 Toes-to-bar
6 Clean and jerk - 6 Toes-to-bar
9 Clean and jerk - 9 Toes-to-bar
12 Clean and jerk - 12 Toes-to-bar
15 Clean and jerk - 15 Toes-to-bar

This is a timed workout. If you complete the round of 15 go on to 18. If you complete 18, go on to 21, etc.

i didn't have really high expectations, as the clean and jerk weight of 95lbs was fairly heavy for me.   but as always, i'd give it my best!  it was a packed gym, and i totally forget to get pics of the first two heats.  i finally got my shit together though, and managed a few of 'the big guns' ...

and not sure what toddy tucked-in is doing here, but we'll let it ride ...


anyway, for my part, i managed 5 of 12 toes to bar - and i'm happy with that.  i was hoping to get through 9, so i surpassed my expectations!   total score of 53.  i'm pretty sure i'll drop in the standings, but that's okay!  it's all for fun!  besides, i had my moment of glory last week.  outstanding job everybody - crossfit bolton ROCKS!


so now that most of the scores have been submitted, i stand as follows (for those who care (hehe)) -  for 13.4  i finished 97th in the world and 7th in canada east and overall, i ranked 64th worldwide and 7th in canada east.   oh ya!  kathy is currently 7th worldwide in masters women 40-44.  fucking amazing!

to finish off the weekend - cuz 'some' of us have to work tomorrow - i went for a sweet 2 hour run in palgrave.   trails were pretty icy, but i had no trouble staying upright with my gold cascrews!

oh ya!


and so, one more workout and the open is done for another year!  all i can say about 13.5 is 'COME ON 50K RUN'        i wish ...

crossfit games 13.3 and ain't that the 'kat's' ass ...

my buddy kathy was seen recently sporting this outfit ...


not to be outdone, i also bared MY buns after a run in palgrave last week ...


and yes, we're still battling the snow ...


enough already !!!   i want some mud for gawd sakes!


fedon has only been back a few weeks, and already he's got his squat up to 365+.
 

another great group for friday night!!  and yes, that's luca in there too!   order is restored - old school!


and saturday - crossfit games time again !!!

 Workout 13.3
12 minute AMRAP of:
150 Wall balls
90 Double-unders
30 Muscle-ups

i was kind of disappointed, as we had done this same workout last year.   the only difference being you recorded your times after each group of exercises in case of a tie breaker.   with thomas at my side,  i got the wallballs done in 6:01, and the double-unders in 7:31.  i tried for 4 minutes to get a muscle-up, but wasn't successful.   however, with that quick of a time, i thought i might do okay - especially if not a lot of the other girls got muscle-ups either.

i didn't get any pics during the wod, but here's a fab shot of the bunch of us afterwards.
 

when i got home and submitted my score for 13.3, i realized i was FIRST in the world in the 50-54 age group!  i frantically emailed the mighty one and made him verify it so i could have my moment of glory.  and here it is ...


it was almost a good 12 hours before i was overtaken, but man was it sweet while it lasted!  so in the end, my results for 13.3 were 12th worldwide, and FIRST in canada east.   after the first three wods, i am 62nd worldwide and 5th in canada east.  and i'm really good with that.  two more to go!

sunday my legs were stiff as shit from the wallballs, but i figured a romp through the forest would help.   i started out from humber station and broke trail for close to 4k.


once i hit k2, there were a few tracks ahead of me - pretty sure they belonged to moose and the dawg.  and yep, definitely warm enough for shorts!


the asian zamboni squad must have been up and up the dingle, as it was really well stomped down.  the creek looked beautiful!


and of course i had to take a little breather under the birthday tree on the way back.   not the best idea after 2 1/2 hours of running though, as the poor old legs were just nasty stiff from saturday!


and finally, remember THIS guy - the stem cell transplant guy - the multiple myeloma guy???  well here he is after completing a st paddy's day 5k snowshoe race.


could he be ANY more awesome and inspiring ...

crossfit games 13.2 and fedon's b'day

i didn't run as much this week - trails were 'frozen lumpy' and it took way too much effort not to blow an ankle.   besides, why do it if i'm not having fun ...

friday night club was HUGE this week!  came through the doors to see kane doing burpees -  hiiiiii kaaaaane!


and i came up with an utterly brilliant idea for the pic - seeing as how it was fed's birthday!


we all headed to the bull after for some beer and food.   and look - thomas came in from guelph!!

when luca showed up and started buying pitchers, i decided it was my time to leave!  i heard they took over the karaoke stage and eventually closed the place AND fedon woke up the next day with no pants on - something about falling in a swamp ...


and then saturday - 13.2 of the crossfit games!  i love that the mighty one scheduled a day for all of us to do it together.   the energy in the gym is unbelievable and i truly think we all work harder with a crowd.

10 minute AMRAP of:
5 Shoulder to overhead, 115 / 75 lbs
10 Deadlift, 115 / 75 lbs
15 Box jump, 24 / 20 inch

i never once took a break, thanks to fig yelling at me, and when the clock ran out, i crumpled to the floor.  my score - 7 rounds plus 9 box jumps for a total of 234!  i was pretty happy with that!  everyone did amazing!!  my results for 13.2 were 149th worldwide, and 10th in canada east.   after the first two wods, i am 100th worldwide and 8th in canada east.   not too bad for an old hack!

i think what is really interesting, is how krazy nervous we all get over the 5 weeks.   we wait with nutso anticipation on wednesday to hear the announcement at 8pm.  i know i set my watch and make sure i'm close to a computer so i can run over and check the wod.   once it's known, then we stress, in a good way, over how we'll do - all week this goes on!  come saturday, we're all insanely jumpy and it's chaos in the gym.   AND while we're standing around waiting to start, i just want to bust!  finally, as the clock counts down, 3,2,1, go ...    it's temporarily forgotten.   for 10 minutes, the only thing going through everybody's mind is to just 'get er done'.   and when the mighty one yells time, we fall to the floor in exhaustion.  we did it!

but then, it starts all over again - what's the next one ...

I FUCKING LOVE IT !!
